 These recent exploratory oil on paper works are very strongly influenced by a broad range of elements from Japanese craft in particular kimono patterns and production sources including katagami stencils and motifs in the collection of the artist. The work is ongoing toward larger paintings and will be part of residency and research undertaken in Kyoto whilst Leverhulme Trust Award Artist in Residence at the University of Huddersfield, Department of Music from September 2010 - June 2011. |
